On the morning of January 23, 2026, Deng Jianjun, President of the Dongguan Green Building Materials Association and Chairman of the Dongguan Construction Industry Overseas Expansion Alliance, along with Li Kai, Director of Shanli Polymer Materials Research & Development Co., Ltd., and Gu Xinghuai, Manager, visited the Mayong E-commerce Association for study and exchange. He Yueyuan, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Mayong E-commerce Association, warmly welcomed the delegation and chaired the symposium. The two sides engaged in an in-depth discussion around the theme of “Leveraging Mayong’s e-commerce channels to help the building materials industry go global,” jointly planning new pathways for Dongguan products to enter overseas markets.

At the symposium, Secretary-General He provided a detailed introduction to the development journey and operational model of the Mayong E-commerce Association, as well as Mayong Town’s unique advantages in integrating e-commerce with industry. She pointed out that, thanks to its favorable location and logistics infrastructure, Mayong is gradually becoming a key hub for Dongguan—and even the Greater Bay Area—exporting e-commerce products overseas. Looking ahead, she expressed hope for deeper collaboration with the construction materials industry to establish an integrated overseas export channel covering everything from production and product display to cross-border sales.
Subsequently, Chairman Deng led representatives from Australian real estate developers—Mr. Duan, Mr. Gao, and Mr. Yang—as well as Mr. Zuo, representing Australia’s prefabricated housing supply chain, on a site visit and discussion at Shanli Polymer Materials Research & Development Co., Ltd. At the company, Mr. Luo, General Manager of Shanli, introduced to the guests the company’s R&D achievements and product advantages in the field of polymer-based building materials, highlighting the technological strength and innovation potential of Dongguan-based enterprises in niche markets.

During the Q&A session, Chairman Deng outlined feasible pathways for the internationalization of construction and building materials enterprises from three perspectives: “exporting Dongguan products overseas, exporting entire industries overseas, and going overseas collectively through alliances.” He emphasized that while individual companies face numerous challenges when venturing abroad, pooling resources and sharing channels through alliances can significantly enhance overall competitiveness and risk resilience.
Mr. Duan, a representative from an Australian developer, shared the latest developments in the local real estate market. He noted that the Australian government plans to promote the construction of 1.2 million housing units over the next three years, which will generate sustained and substantial market demand for the building materials industry—particularly strong demand for environmentally friendly, durable, and prefabricated building materials.
Mr. Zuo, an expert in the Australian real estate assembly supply chain, systematically analyzed the opportunities and key considerations for Chinese building materials companies entering the Australian market from the perspectives of product advantages, industrial support systems, cost control, and compliance requirements. He advised that companies should not only focus on product quality and innovation but also conduct thorough research into the target country’s standards and policies, leveraging professional institutions to ensure smooth compliance and implementation.
This exchange reached multiple consensuses:
1. Construction and building materials companies can actively leverage the Mayong e-commerce ecosystem to expand their online channels for overseas markets.
2. It is recommended to adopt a “supply chain collaboration” model, jointly going global with partners from various links including design, production, logistics, and certification.
3. Leverage platforms such as the Dongguan Construction Industry Overseas Expansion Alliance to establish a collaborative mechanism for information sharing and complementary resource utilization.
4. Implement in stages, gradually shifting from product exports to higher-value segments of the value chain, such as brand development and technical services.
Through this visit, enterprise representatives gained a more intuitive understanding of the model that combines cross-border e-commerce with overseas expansion of local industries, laying a solid foundation for future concrete collaborations. In the future, the Dongguan Green Building Materials Association, the Dongguan Construction Industry Overseas Expansion Alliance, and the Mayong E-commerce Association will continue to deepen their collaboration with member enterprises, jointly promoting more high-quality building materials products from Dongguan companies into global markets.
